[…]ClearVeil has one thing going for it that a lot of the other VK bands lacked, some nice screams. That reason alone prolly makes this my favorite ClearVeil song, I mean there are a lot of really good attributes to it, the powerful tense atmosphere, the great use of dynamic between the distorted guitars as background and the choral clean lines as foreground, but man its all about that chorus scream.
There’s just something so right about the way the scream is pulled off, not only in execution but also studio technique. Notice how well the scream is buried under the song so that it hits but doesn’t take up all of the space. It’s an absolutely fantastic musical bit and it’s the reason I posted one of those stupid song-with-bands-group-pictures videos instead of one of their (still enjoyably good) live shows.
